An exceptionally fine French, Victorian era brooch showcasing a 13.51 carat Madeira citrine and over 2.40 carats of old mine and rose cut diamonds, made out of 18 karat gold. This piece of Romantic Period jewelry was expertly crafted with regal design featuring diamond encrusted garland and gold bead work. Circa 1850's, Paris.

    Hallmarks- an owl with the number 75 on its chest, indicating a French import marked in Paris
    Gemstones- one large faceted 17.45 mm Madeira citrine (Madeira is the term used for orangey-brown hued citrines because they share their color with Madeira wine), approximately 13.51 carats
    Diamonds- thirty-two old mine cut diamonds and sixty-four rose cut accent diamonds, approximately 2.40 carats total weight

    Comments- the back side of the brooch is a testament to the excellent craftsmanship of this piece of jewelry, it has a roll over c-clasp with an additional latch for extra safety, there are five small jump rings for chatelaine accessory attachments, or the jump rings can be used to easily convert this brooch into a stunning necklace
